Homer
Homer is the ancient Greek poet to whom the Iliad and the Odyssey are attributed, epic poems probably composed in the 8th or 7th century BCE from a long oral tradition. The Iliad tells of the Trojan War and the Odyssey of Odysseus's return home. Nothing certain is known of his life, but his poems were the foundation of Greek education and literature.
