Trojan War
The Trojan War was the legendary siege of Troy by the Greeks, told in Homer's Iliad and later poems. Many Greek cities in Anatolia and Cyprus traced their founding to heroes returning from the war. Whether a real conflict lies behind it is debated, but Hittite texts about Wilusa, usually identified with Troy, show the region was contested in the Late Bronze Age.
