Trois-Rivières

Trois-Rivières is a city in Quebec, Canada, where the Saint-Maurice river meets the St Lawrence, halfway between Quebec City and Montreal. Founded in 1634 by Laviolette on Samuel de Champlain's orders, it was the second permanent French settlement on the St Lawrence and a fur-trading post. It later became an industrial centre known for pulp and paper.
