Guthfrith of York
Guthfrith was a Viking king of York who ruled Northumbria from about 883 until his death in 895. Later sources say that he was chosen king with the support of the community of St Cuthbert. He was a Christian, one of the first Scandinavian rulers in England known to have been buried in a church, and his reign marked the settling of the Viking kingdom of York.
