Gutnalthing

Also known as Gutnaltinget

The Gutnalthing was the general assembly of medieval Gotland, where representatives of the free farmers of the island's districts met to make laws, settle disputes and decide matters of common concern. It met at Roma in the middle of the island and governed Gotland as a largely self-ruling farmers' community under loose Swedish overlordship.
