Gyeongae of Silla

d. 927 · 10th century · Also known as King Gyeongae

Gyeongae was king of Silla from 924 to 927, during the Later Three Kingdoms period, when Silla had shrunk to a small state around its capital. In 927 Gyeon Hwon of Later Baekje sacked the capital at Gyeongju and forced the king to take his own life, placing Gyeongsun on the throne. The outrage turned Silla towards Wang Geon of Goryeo, to whom it later surrendered.
