Härjedalen
Härjedalen is a mountainous province in central Sweden, bordering Norway. Long ruled from Norway, it passed with Jämtland to Sweden under the Treaty of Brömsebro in 1645, which ended the Torstenson War. Sparsely populated, it is known for its forests and fells and for reindeer herding by the Sami; its largest town is Sveg.
