Charles X Gustav
Charles X Gustav was king of Sweden in the mid-seventeenth century and a gifted military commander. After a daring winter crossing of the frozen straits between Danish islands, he forced Denmark to accept the Treaty of Roskilde in 1658. The treaty gave Sweden Scania, Blekinge, Halland, Bornholm and Norwegian provinces, bringing the Swedish Empire to its greatest extent.
