Scania

Scania is the southernmost province of modern Sweden, facing Denmark across the Øresund strait. Long part of Denmark, it was ceded to Sweden by the Treaty of Roskilde in 1658. Accounts of the Swedish Empire note that Danish forces invaded Scania after Sweden's defeat at Poltava, though it remained Swedish.
