Hodeidah
Hodeidah is a port city on the Red Sea coast of Yemen, in the coastal plain of the Tihama, and the country's main port for imports. It grew in the 19th century under Ottoman rule, when it replaced Mocha as the chief port of the region. Held by the Idrisid Emirate of Asir after the First World War, it was taken by Imam Yahya's Mutawakkilite Kingdom in 1925.
