Hoshiarpur district
Hoshiarpur district lies in the Indian state of Punjab, between the Beas and the Sutlej at the foot of the Shivalik hills, with its headquarters at the city of Hoshiarpur. It formed part of the Jalandhar Doab, which Britain annexed from the Sikh kingdom in 1846. Several small Rajput hill states, such as Datarpur, lay within its area.
