1563–1646 · 17th century

Hosokawa Tadaoki was a samurai and tea master who fought for Tokugawa Ieyasu at Sekigahara in 1600. His wife, the Christian Hosokawa Gracia, died rather than be taken hostage by Ieyasu's enemies.
