House of La Marck

Also known as La Marck family

The House of La Marck was a noble family from the County of Mark in Westphalia, one of whose branches rose to power in the Ardennes from the 15th century. Its members gained control of the Duchy of Bouillon and the principality of Sedan, which they ruled as near-independent lords. Through the marriage of the heiress Charlotte de La Marck, these lands passed to Henri de La Tour d'Auvergne.
