Quercy
Quercy is a historic province of south-western France around Cahors, roughly the modern department of Lot and part of Tarn-et-Garonne. In the Middle Ages it was contested between the counts of Toulouse, the dukes of Aquitaine and the French crown, and it suffered heavily in the Hundred Years' War. Its limestone plateaux, the causses, and the Lot valley are known for wine and truffles.
