Querfurt
Querfurt is a town in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, west of Halle, dominated by one of the largest medieval castles in Germany. It was the seat of the lords of Querfurt, whose family included the missionary Bruno of Querfurt and who took over the Mansfeld lands in 1229. Later held by the archbishops of Magdeburg and then Saxony, it formed part of the Duchy of Saxe-Weissenfels.
