House of Raabs
The Raabs were an Austrian noble family, named after Raabs an der Thaya in Lower Austria, who held the burgraviate of Nuremberg from about 1105. When their male line died out around 1190, the office passed through the heiress Sophia of Raabs to her husband Frederick of Zollern, who became burgrave in 1192. Through him the burgraviate became the base of the Franconian line of the Hohenzollerns.
