Huế

Also known as Hue, Phu Xuan

Huế, formerly Phu Xuan, is a city on the Perfume River in central Vietnam. It became the seat of the Nguyen lords in the 17th and 18th centuries and was captured by the Tay Son. After Nguyen Anh retook it in 1801, it was the imperial capital of the Nguyen dynasty until 1945, and its citadel is a World Heritage Site.
