Gulf of Thailand
The Gulf of Thailand, formerly the Gulf of Siam, is an inlet of the South China Sea bordered by Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Malaysia. The Chao Phraya river flows into its northern end, and its sheltered waters gave the kingdoms of Ayutthaya and Bangkok access to the trade of China, Japan, India and Europe.
