Huliaipole
Huliaipole is a town in Zaporizhzhia Oblast in south-eastern Ukraine. It was the birthplace and headquarters of the anarchist Nestor Makhno, whose Revolutionary Insurrectionary Army of Ukraine was based there during the Russian Civil War of 1917–1921. The town became the centre of the anarchist zone sometimes called the Free Territory, and changed hands repeatedly between Makhnovists, Whites and Bolsheviks.
