Huvishka

fl. c. 150–190 CE · 2nd century

Huvishka was a Kushan emperor who succeeded Kanishka and reigned for about three decades in the middle of the 2nd century CE, when the empire stretched from the Amu Darya to the middle Ganges. His abundant gold coinage shows the widest range of gods of any Kushan ruler, and Mathura flourished as a centre of art and religion under his rule.
