d. 914 · 10th century · Also known as Mansur al-Yaman

Ibn Hawshab (died 914), known as Mansur al-Yaman, was the founder of the Isma'ili mission in Yemen. Arriving with Ali ibn al-Fadl around 881, he established a base in the mountains of Maswar north-west of Sanaa, from which missionaries were sent to North Africa, Sind and elsewhere. He remained loyal to the Fatimid caliph al-Mahdi when Ali ibn al-Fadl broke away.
