Iga Province
Iga was an old province of Japan, in the hills south-east of Kyoto, now the western part of Mie Prefecture. In the Sengoku period it had no strong lord and was governed by leagues of local warriors, famous as ninja. Oda Nobunaga conquered it in 1581 in the Tenshō Iga War, and under the Tokugawa it belonged to the Tsu domain.
