Imari
Imari is a port town in Saga Prefecture on Kyushu, Japan. In the Edo period porcelain made at nearby Arita was shipped from its harbour, so that European buyers called the ware Imari. The Saga domain controlled both the kilns and the trade, and the town and its hills, notably Okawachiyama, remain a centre of porcelain making.
