Italian War of 1551–1559
The Italian War of 1551–1559 was the last of the Italian Wars, fought between Henry II of France and the Habsburgs, Charles V and then Philip II of Spain, with England joining Spain in 1557. After Spanish victories at St Quentin (1557) and Gravelines (1558) and the French capture of Calais, the Peace of Cateau-Cambrésis (1559) confirmed Spanish dominance in Italy.
