d. 1227 · 13th century · Also known as Ivane Zakarian

Ivane Mkhargrdzeli was a Georgian-Armenian noble and general of the Zakarid family who, with his brother Zakare, commanded the armies of Queen Tamar. Together they won the victories of Shamkor in 1195 and Basiani around 1202 and conquered much of Armenia, which the family governed.
