Iwellemmeden

Also known as Oullimiden, Ouilliminden

The Iwellemmeden are a Tuareg confederation of the middle Niger region, in present-day Mali and Niger. They moved into the lands east of the Niger Bend in the 17th century and in the 18th century split into the western Kel Ataram, around Ménaka, and the eastern Kel Dinnik, around Tahoua. They resisted French conquest and revolted in 1916–1917.
