17th century · 17th century

The Jahangir Mahal is a palace in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh, built in the early 17th century by Bir Singh Deo of Orchha. It is said to have been raised in honour of the Mughal emperor Jahangir, his patron and ally. Its tiered courtyard plan, domed pavilions and carved stone screens combine Rajput and Mughal styles.
