Vir Singh Deo, also written Bir Singh Deo, was the Bundela Rajput ruler of Orchha from 1605 to 1627. In 1602 he had Akbar's minister Abul Fazl killed at the request of Prince Salim, and when Salim became the emperor Jahangir he rewarded him with Orchha and high Mughal rank. He built palaces and temples at Orchha, including the Jahangir Mahal, and the seven-storey palace at Datia, later granted to his son Bhagwan Rao.
