Jiaozhou Bay
Jiaozhou Bay is an inlet of the Yellow Sea on the southern coast of the Shandong peninsula in eastern China, with the city of Qingdao on its eastern side. Germany occupied it in 1897 and leased it from the Qing in 1898 as the Kiautschou Bay concession, which Japan captured in 1914; it returned to China in 1922. Its shores are now among China's busiest port areas.
