Jim Taylor (patrol officer)
Jim Taylor was an Australian patrol officer in the Territory of New Guinea. In 1933 he and the prospector Michael Leahy led an expedition into the Wahgi Valley, revealing to outsiders the large populations of the New Guinea Highlands. In 1938–1939 he led the long Hagen–Sepik patrol, one of the last great exploratory journeys in New Guinea.
