Jimutavahana
Jimutavahana is a legendary Vidyadhara prince of Indian story, famed for his self-sacrifice. In the tale, told in the Kathasaritsagara and in King Harsha's 7th-century Sanskrit play Nagananda, he offers himself to the bird Garuda in place of a young serpent, and his compassion moves Garuda to give up eating serpents. The Silahara dynasties claimed descent from him.
