Jiroft
Jiroft is a city in Kerman province in south-eastern Iran, in the Halil river valley. From 2001 looting near the town revealed the Jiroft culture of the 3rd millennium BCE, with large settlements such as Konar Sandal and finely carved chlorite vessels, some of which reached Mesopotamia. Some scholars identify the region with the land of Marhashi or Aratta.
