Jos Plateau
The Jos Plateau is an upland region in central Nigeria, rising to over 1,200 metres, with the city of Jos at its centre. It is home to many small ethnic groups who long resisted the 19th-century jihad states around it. In the colonial period it became a major centre of tin mining.
