José Félix Uriburu

1868–1932 · 20th century

José Félix Uriburu was an Argentine general who overthrew President Hipólito Yrigoyen on 6 September 1930 and ruled as de facto president until February 1932. He hoped to replace the democratic system with a corporatist order, but lost the support of the conservatives, who restored elections under the fraudulent conditions of the Infamous Decade.
