Kartasura
Kartasura is a town in Central Java, Indonesia, just west of Surakarta. Amangkurat II built it as the new capital of the Mataram Sultanate in 1680 after the Trunajaya rebellion. During the Chinese War rebels sacked the court in 1742, and Pakubuwono II then moved the capital to Surakarta in 1745. Remains of the palace walls survive.
