Kesho Das of Jhabua
Kesho Das was a Rathore Rajput who founded the state of Jhabua in western Malwa around 1584. According to the state's tradition, he received the title of Raja from the Mughal court after suppressing Bhil chiefs who had attacked imperial officials, and took Jhabua from its earlier Bhil ruler. His descendants ruled Jhabua as a princely state until it joined India in 1948.
