Ketef Hinnom

Ketef Hinnom is an archaeological site south-west of the Old City of Jerusalem, where burial caves of the late Iron Age were excavated in 1979. They yielded two tiny rolled silver amulets inscribed with a version of the Priestly Blessing from the Book of Numbers. Usually dated to the late 7th or early 6th century BCE, they are among the oldest known texts that parallel the Hebrew Bible.
