Khammao Vilay
Khammao Vilay was a Lao official who served as prime minister of the Lao Issara government formed in Vientiane in October 1945 after the Japanese surrender. His cabinet, which included Souvanna Phouma and Souphanouvong, opposed the return of French rule but had little money or military force. When French troops retook Laos in 1946 he went into exile in Bangkok with the movement's government.
