Khust
Khust is a town in Zakarpattia Oblast in western Ukraine, on the Tysa river below the ruins of a medieval castle. After the First Vienna Award gave Uzhhorod to Hungary in 1938, it became the capital of autonomous Carpatho-Ukraine. There, on 15 March 1939, the Carpatho-Ukrainian diet declared independence, a day before Hungarian troops took the town.
