Kigezi
Kigezi is a highland region of south-western Uganda, bordering Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, centred on the town of Kabale. The British created Kigezi District after the Anglo-German-Belgian boundary settlement of 1910–11, dividing lands of the former kingdom of Ndorwa from Rwanda. Its hills and lakes, including Lake Bunyonyi, are among the most densely farmed in East Africa, and the district was later split into several smaller districts.
