Kirana gharana
The Kirana gharana is one of the main stylistic schools of Hindustani classical singing, named after the town of Kirana in Uttar Pradesh. It was shaped in the late 19th and early 20th centuries by Abdul Karim Khan, who settled at Miraj, and Abdul Wahid Khan, and is known for slow, unfolding development of the raga and attention to exact pitch. Its later singers include Sawai Gandharva, Gangubai Hangal and Bhimsen Joshi.
