Kiurikian dynasty

c. 979–13th century · 13th century · Also known as Kyurikians, Kiurikids, Kyurikids

The Kiurikian dynasty was a branch of the Armenian Bagratids that ruled the Kingdom of Lori, or Tashir-Dzoraget, in northern Armenia from around 979. Its founder Gurgen, son of Ashot III, was known as Kiurike, a Georgian form of his name. After David IV of Georgia took Lori in 1118, the family kept smaller lordships at Tavush and Matsnaberd until the Mongol period.
