Klaipėda Revolt
The Klaipėda Revolt took place in January 1923, when Lithuanian irregulars, organised secretly by the Lithuanian government and presented as a local uprising, seized the Klaipėda Region from its French administration. The region had been detached from Germany by the Treaty of Versailles and placed under the Allies. The Allies accepted the result, and the Klaipėda Convention of 1924 made the region an autonomous part of Lithuania.
