Korana
The Korana are a Khoikhoi people of the interior of South Africa, who moved north from the Cape into the Orange and Vaal river valleys in the 18th century. Living by herding, hunting and raiding on horseback, their groups fought Tswana, Griqua and settler neighbours. In the 1880s the Korana chief David Massouw rewarded white mercenaries with farms, which became the Republic of Stellaland.
