Kremsier Parliament

1848–1849 · 19th century · Also known as Austrian Constituent Reichstag

The Kremsier Parliament was the Austrian constituent Reichstag elected in 1848, which met first in Vienna and from November 1848 at Kroměříž (Kremsier) in Moravia. It abolished serfdom and drafted a federal constitution for the Austrian Empire, but Emperor Franz Joseph dissolved it in March 1849 and imposed his own constitution, so its draft never came into force.
