Krishna II (Rashtrakuta)

r. c. 878–914 · 9th century

Krishna II was Rashtrakuta emperor of the Deccan from about 878 to 914, the son and successor of Amoghavarsha I. His reign was taken up by wars with the Eastern Chalukyas of Vengi and the Gurjara-Pratiharas of northern India, some of which went badly, although he kept control of the empire's core and of southern Gujarat. He was succeeded by his grandson Indra III.
