La Ceiba
La Ceiba is a port city on the Caribbean coast of northern Honduras and capital of the department of Atlántida. It grew from the late nineteenth century as the base of the Vaccaro brothers' banana business, later the Standard Fruit Company, whose railways and docks made it one of the country's main export ports. It is one of the largest cities in Honduras and a gateway to the Bay Islands.
