Lahaina
Lahaina is a town on the west coast of Maui, Hawaii. Long a royal centre of Maui's chiefs, it served as the capital of the Kingdom of Hawaii from about 1820 to 1845, and in the mid-19th century it was a major port of the Pacific whaling fleet and a centre of missionary activity. Much of the historic town was destroyed by a wildfire in August 2023.
