Lake Fitri
Lake Fitri is a shallow freshwater lake in the Sahel of central Chad, whose size varies greatly with the rains. It was the homeland of the Bulala, whose rulers fought the Sayfawa kings of Kanem in the 14th century and drove them west to Bornu. The Bulala later survived as the Sultanate of Fitri, centred at Yao near the lake.
