Lavaux

Lavaux is a region of terraced vineyards on the north shore of Lake Geneva in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland, between Lausanne and Vevey. The terraces were built from the 11th century under monasteries and the bishops of Lausanne, who owned much of the land. Lavaux was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007.
